I would recommend using the latest version of sendmail, enabling RBL
capability (maps.vixie.com will show you how), then finding a procmail-based
junk-mail filter utility which can tag a spam header on messages who meet
certain context-based criteria, such as being to friend at public.com, or have
tons of dollar signs in the subject.
Also, consider installing the type of TCP wrappers that have RBL hooks in them,
run sendmail from inet, so the spammers can't even make a complete connection,
much less send a message.
