It sounds like network connection problem. Try use your PC's connection for
SUN and boot it again.

Subject: [Sunhelp] HELP OF SUN BOOT
Dear Sir/Madam:
I have a question about my Sun Workstation (Solaris 2.6 OS).
Last week there was a power-outage in the university and the switch of
the network was down for a while. Today the techinician rebooted the
switch and the PC in my office can get access to the internet now.
However, now there was now a problem of the Sun Workstation. When
rebooted, it waited a long time after the following message appreared on
the screen.
rpc , requesting bind... something like that (I didn't remember
exactly).
The file systems seemed OK in the booting process. Now the log
window appeared, and I entered the username and password and the Sun
workstation waited a long long time and the mouse was frozen on the
screen. I tried to telnet to the SUN, it could connect to the SUN but
it took a very long time to connect it. I'm afraid what kind of setting
I should do to the SUN in order to let it work properly.
Thank you for your idea.
Guoping Wang
