I don't think that's possible. You might be able to boot off of it, but
nearly all LS-120's are IDE devices. The volume manager only supports
removable drives if they are SCSI - the rmscsi type in /etc/vold.conf. The
exceptions are IDE CD-ROMs and the plain old floppy drives which have
their own controller.
Sun would have to make an rmide shared library for vold to support IDE
removables.
Now if there was a SCSI LS-120 that should work.
