[Sunhelp] pragma problem

i would like some help on data alignment 

#pragma pack() gives a syntax error
and 
#pragma pack(4)does not seem to align to the natural boundary which is
the default of sparc and should behave as a no parameter passed should
do. 

i stll get a bus error due to illegal memory reference.

shall be grateful for any help
