[Sunhelp] Software RAID or Hardware RAID...

I've toyed around with software RAID on other OSs, (not Solaris, yet) and
I've been very disappointed. It's usually not very clean or easy to
implement, and it eats up CPU like crazy. If you want to do mirroring, you
MIGHT be ok with a software solution. RAID5 is good if you need speed
combined with redundancy. It requires at least three disks, but can
accommodate many more. I don't know how large of a set you are looking at,
but if it's more than four or five disks you'll probably want an external
chassis for your drives, which you can hook up to your Sun via SCSI.
