Is quite simple if you have the server already up and serving the maps.
Steps configure Solaris clients:
- /etc/defaultrouter - add your default router.
# domainname NIS_domain_name <Enter>    (same as on the NIS master)
# domainname > /etc/defaultdomain <Enter>
- /etc/hosts - add the NIS master and NIS slave servers entries.
# cp /etc/nsswitch.nis /etc/nsswitch.conf <Enter>
# cd /var/yp; ypinit -c <Enter>
Add the names of your NIS master and NIS slave servers if you have.
Follow the help provided with the ypinit.

Reboot the client.
