You can use something like n(etwork)t(ime)p(rotocol) or you can use a 
"rdate" cmd. to get the date/time from your server.

If you put the rdate cmd in root's crontab, like :

45 * * * * /bin/rdate your_server_name > /dev/null 2>&1

this is going to be done every 45 minutes.
