[Sunhelp] Neophyte Question - PATH variable on CDE

I would suggest you have a good look at the manpage for your chosen shell
and see what it says that it reads AND in what order. There can be quite a
few files involved in the process and some of them might even "source"
others that aren't described in the manpage (as mine do, due to a previous
administrator). Once you find what order in which it reads which files I
would look through them in the same order to see which one writes to the
variable last without including the previous setting with a $PATH (therefore
null and voiding the previous ones). Keep in mind that since you are using
CDE some .dt* files come into play. It's not pretty!
I know that's a long, drawn-out answer to a simple question but it's the
only way to be sure :-)
