Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is in the FAQ but it does bear repeating: you
do need to take a small amount of care when setting up a drive larger
than 8GB. OBP 2 can't address anything over that limit (3 and onwards
have no such problems) so do make sure that your root slice is below
the 8GB mark, or you won't be able to boot the system.
It's perfectly safe to access >8GB from within
Solaris/*BSD/Linux/whatever,
it's just the OBP code that boots the Solaris loader that has this
restriction, so stick the root at the start and you can use more than
8GB
drives without any ill effects.
