[SPARCbook] Solaris 9 on a 3gx ?

You won't really derive much advantage of Sol 9 on a 3gx--Sol 9 gives you
the ability to respond to dynamic reconfiguration events. The 3gx doesn't
support those AFAIK. Also, you won't derive any advantage from the 64-bit
kernel. I'd say just run 2.6 (5/98 version from Sun should work) or buy a
copy of the Tadpole Solaris 2.7 version (I think there's probably one or
two people on here who might have a copy to sell)
I don't even know if 9 will work on sun4m. Solaris 8 might be the last
version that does. If you find me wrong, let us all know, since it would
be nice to run the latest Sol on my little sparcbook.

P.S. If anyone knows of any sysadmin leads, part or full time, I am
an unemployed sr. solaris guy. I'm attempting to make ends meet by
moonlighting as a stockbroker but the hours are rought here in San
Francisco (6:30 am every day) so I'd rather just go back to babysitting
UNIX servers. There's cash prizes for the winner.
