[SPARCbook] No Network?

Hi All.

Pardon me if this a commonly known thing, but I was just wondering, when
I disconnect my Sparcbook 3gx from my network, and take it with me
anywhere it always has trouble booting up, complaining about a 'babble
error' on le0. Is there an easy way to either have the machine check if
the link is up, and if not, just not config the networking stuff, or
perhaps by making a loopback adapter to fake out the machine, or
something like that? Thanks.
