solaris 2.6 it is...
the closest thing I could find to what you describe is "ffbconfig", part
of the SUNWffb* packages. Unfortunately my wrist was slapped by pkgadd
(OK, admintool) which told me sternly that my system did not support
Creator Graphics.
Of course i didn't listen and went ahead with the installation. afterall,
the man page was an enticing read. but then my wrist was slapped yet
again when I tried it out on the console login:
#/usr/sbin/ffbconfig -propt
ffbconfig: /dev/fbs/ffb0: No such file or directory
ffbconfig: cannot open device /dev/fbs/ffb0
#/usr/sbin/ffbconfig -dev /dev/fbs/p9100:0
ffbconfig: /dev/fbs/p9100:0: not a FFB device
ffbconfig: cannot open device /dev/fbs/p9100:0
p9100:0 being a link to /devices/iommu...
D'Oh!
stuck in 8-bit land
