Hello again.

I have been having a problem with one of my SparcBooks, I asked about
it here a while back, and no one had any clues for the clueless.

Well, I've been digging around a bit, and I've got more information
on this problem, and need some specific information.

What seems to have happened is that some how the NVRAM got confused
about what the default video modes should be. For instance, on my
SparcBook, a fbconfig -Sl gives me:

0 800 600 36.000 24 72 104 3 2 20 ird "Internal SVGA"
1 800 600 36.000 24 72 104 3 2 20 ier "Int & Ext SVGA"
2 800 600 36.000 24 72 104 3 2 20 ir "Internal SVGA [Depth 16]" depth:16
3 800 600 36.000 24 72 104 3 2 20 ier "Int & Ext SVGA [Depth 16]" depth:16
4 800 600 36.000 24 72 104 3 2 20 ir "Internal SVGA [Depth 32]" depth:32
5 800 600 36.000 24 72 104 3 2 20 ier "Int & Ext SVGA [Depth 32]" depth:32
10 1152 900 92.940 28 128 196 2 4 31 cer "Sun 1152x900 66Hz"
11 1152 900 105.560 16 96 208 3 7 33 cer "Sun 1152x900 76Hz"
12 1024 768 81.000 40 128 136 2 4 31 cer "Sun 1024x768 76Hz"
13 1152 900 92.940 28 128 196 2 4 31 e "Nanao 1152x900 66Hz"
<...>

While on the less than well working, I get:

0 640 480 25.000 16 96 48 3 3 31 ird "Internal VGA"
1 640 480 25.000 16 96 48 3 3 31 ier "Int & Ext VGA"
2 640 480 25.000 16 96 48 3 3 31 ir "Internal VGA [Depth 16]" depth:16
3 640 480 25.000 16 96 48 3 3 31 ier "Int & Ext VGA [Depth 16]" depth:16
4 640 480 25.000 16 96 48 3 3 31 ir "Internal VGA [Depth 32]" depth:32
5 640 480 25.000 16 96 48 3 3 31 ier "Int & Ext VGA [Depth 32]" depth:32
10 1152 900 92.940 28 128 196 2 4 31 cer "Sun 1152x900 66Hz"
11 1152 900 105.560 16 96 208 3 7 33 cer "Sun 1152x900 76Hz"
12 1024 768 81.000 40 128 136 2 4 31 cer "Sun 1024x768 76Hz"
<...>

These are both SparcBook 3GSs, and have the 800x600 screens.

I cannot seem to make a configuration change to those first 6 video
modes, as well, I suspect that the NVRAM in this machine either (a)
drained it's battery temporarily, or permanently, but I suspect the
answer to how to find and change that battery is in the FAQ, no?

So, my first question is, is it possible to force a change to those
first 6 modes, failing that, are there any suggestions for fixing
this in other ways?
