I did a little work on RT-PCs in my first job.

AFAIK, their architecture is substantially different from the later
machines. The RTs have ROMP processors on something akin to a PC-AT
motherboard, oops, sorry, "planar". The line did not sell well and was
nearly cancelled. Later, the POWER processors were developed and
initially fitted to planars based on PS/2 technology.

There is not a huge amount of connection between AIX 3 & later (for
POWER) and AIX 1 & 2 (for ROMP).

Even AIX 1 for the PS/2 line was developed by a different company than
AIX 1 for RT!

I don't know this as a fact, but no, I don't think they'll ever run
anything later than AIX 2.
