[rescue] Did someone need a Tadpole N40 AIX hard drive image?

I had mentioned having had access to several of those machines and sadly
having lost them.

I worked for University of Houston at the time and as property custodian of
the department I worked in, I had access to the surplus barn where we could
transfer inventory in and out of that barn.  This was in the early 2000s,
during a time of UNIX machines being discarded in favor of windows
machines.  Years earlier, IBM had unloaded 100+ of those N40 laptops to UH
in what was published as a nice gift to the school, but I think they were
basically unsalable.

Later, Prepared Table Charter School (

came and took all the extras.  I had checked mine back in, but had intended
to purchase them if they went up for auction.
