[rescue] New SPARCStation 10 owner, needs help with some issues though.

I had to replace the NVRAM and set the MAC address.

I install 4.1.4 from CD, I would be interested if you had pacthes though.

OBP and they kernel recognize that the TP is present but both give an error
that itbs not connected.   Since I don't have NIS I used the sun guide to
being able to disable the requirement.

I can configure the interface fine via the shell but it still tells me there
is no connection

Hi Clifford

Did you install 4.1.4 from CD or did it just come on the disk pre installed?

I have the CD ISO here if you need it.

I also have some very old patch CDs from the 90s if I remember correctly, I
will have a hunt and see if any are for 4.1.4.

Is the NVRAM a good one in your system?

On the NIC, when you boot the system does it recognise it and can you
manually
configure it?
