Not a lot of market for Suns with 9", monochrome, 512x512 screens. (I'm
not sure there was that much demand for SE/30s with 9" monochrome,
either -- I seem to recall external monitors as a common upgrade.)

Besides, the SS1 (1989), the SLC ('89? '90?), and the IPC (1990) are all
pretty close to backpack-sized. And two of them should be considerably
faster than an SE/30.

What's really strange, in my book, is how close the prices were. An
SE/30 with a 1mb RAM and 512x512 was $4,300 in 1989. An SLC listed for
$4995 came with 8 MB and 1152x900.

Who the heck was paying these prices for Macs when a modest Sun was such
a small additional cost?
