I meant, you can't be serious with the presumption that there must be 
"strong arguments" for it "because it's been adopted".

There aren't too many areas of modern human endeavour where the best 
ideas win. That's supposed to be the rule in engineering but there's 
precious little of that in this industry as you must well know. That 
systemd is terrible engineering is not even in dispute.

Asking why people aren't rejecting it as such, takes us, perhaps, into 
the fields of psychology and groupthink. And when I say "look around 
you," systemd is far from the *only* terrible idea that's popular. Even 
if you restrict to technology.
