That may be the best solution - do you have a list of known-working
chipsets/laptops you could use to search eBay for a compatible card? Older B
and B+G cards can sell for less than $5 based on my quick review of eBay, but
I didn't look at specific cards...

As a reminder, Solaris 10/11 works fine under VirtualBox...
