Perceptions are tough to shake, and you write code for UNIX (and UNIX itself
from what I can tell) and I just use it. So there isn't going to be much I
can tell you.

But...I used Free and Net and OpenBSD for a few years each and drew my own
conclusions. While I no longer trust Free and Net (and haven't for years)
I'm pretty happy with OpenBSD. I feel the development team is small enough
and contentious enough (although surprisingly less so recently) that the
code is actually pretty good. It supports a wide range of platforms but
doesn't have all the features of Free or Net, nor the apps, but it seems
more stable. From an end-user perspective it seems stable and performs well
on my hardware (commodity Intel crapware and some new MIPS boxes).

I'll try the SPARC64 when I get one of my Sun V210s PSU fixed up.
