VAX, either by serial port or by ethernet (XNS). The host library came  
as source so theoretically you could've compiled it on any host you  
were brave enough to port to. The serial protocol was documented  
pretty thoroughly in the included documentation so one might also have  
rolled one's own. IBM attachment came relatively quickly after, with  
an add-in card giving a 3270 coax interface. I believe the intended  
environment here was VM/SP.
