Nope, it's fully supported by SGI and IRIX. The limitation is that all CPUs on
a nodeboard need to operate at the same speeds, but as the CPUs are both
mounted on one card that isn't an issue.

The 4D/x00 PowerSeries support for mixed CPU speeds was unofficial, from the
CHALLENGE on you could have CPU cards with different speeds. It has to be the
same general family, but on O200/2000
you can get away with mixing R10k/R12k/R14k (excluding the 180MHz boards on
O2000, which don't play nice with anyone else).
