40MB/sec is 320Mbps is 1/3 of GbE or so.

Are you seeing faster than that on iSCSI over GbE, using an UltraSparc-
IIIi-based machine as the server?  Or did you think I meant 40Mbps?

I think that the latency of TCP/IP gigabit ethernet is going to be a 
problem.
