Not an issue if you replace your shell with bash, ditto root's.  And
yes, I know, the proper way is to add an stty erase line in your
.profile, but since bash is much nicer than sh... :)

(There's not much point with 10 to keep a statically linked shell
anymore as the OS requires /usr to be mountable even in single user
mode, and if you're using Veritas Volume Manager, you'd want to add /opt
too.)
