the ssa information is in the systems handbook.  there is not much
information.

but, IIRC, the power supplies in some the ssa restricted the array to 4.2GB
hard drives only.
a power supply upgrade is needed to use the 9.1GB hard drives.
the ssa will not start if the "larger" power supplies are not present.

at that time, IIRC, only SE and HVD drives were used.
the ssas used the SE hard drives.
