Well, no offense to Sun, but they don't really make high performance
systems that are affordable anymore. Their high performance systems
are still just PC servers. My 4 hour time to repair warranty on my HP
servers that I don't need because they never die is just as good as
the 4 hour time to repair warranty on my old suns (which I also never
needed). They just cost a whole lot more. As far as I'm concerned,
the only thing you buy when you buy Sun is a name we all used to know
and love and trust. They're no better than Dell anymore when it comes
to servers, so why throw out the money? JMHO. I still fire up my
Ultra 2 and scream at all the gnu software that refuses to compile
with Forte, so it's not like I'm a fan. I'm just a realist.
