[rescue] bulk erasing DLT tapes (or, more specifically, NOT)

So, for those that have degaussers that work with DLT tapes... what
is the make/model of your degausser, and if you have stats (amps, gauss, 
etc)
on the unit that would be good too....

wondering if mine is not operating at full strength as well... it does 
kick out after
one minute, even though it is rated for 10 min of operation.  Inside, I 
can't fathom
why so heavy a wire runs into the unit, decent size wire inside most of 
the unit,
and then some half as small gauge wire in one or two places (between 
switch and
magnet).  Wonder if someone 'fixed' it at one time ?
