XFS is my default on Linux. But I got problems with it on our mail
server. That machine is a 64 bit PA-RISC box and we had LVM below XFS.
Maybe the problem was not XFS but LVM or the "strange" CPU architekture.
On PeeCees this combination worked quite well for me.

reiserfs: Don't waste your time.

JFS: I had a look at it years ago and went back to XFS within hours.
May have changed in the meantime.

AdvFS: I know it from DEC UNIX. It clearly shows where ZFS got
inspiration. The Linux port is quite fresh and may need some time to
setle. On DEC UNIX it worked really great. My dream is to port AdvFS to
NetBSD...

ext2/3/4/5/6/howfareweareatthemoment?: Shows its age, may not be the
fastest, may need fsck(8), but at least plain ext2 works.
