Yes, I've got a Null-Modem adapter I had in my box-o-adapters....
one I purchased a long time ago.  It's a full 25 pin one (I've not
actually pin'ed in out to know how it's wired up, but I've used it in
the past with other serial devices so don't expect it's wrong or  
"broken"
at this point... though cable rot could have set in...   <dig dig dig>
Yeah, and it's the only one in the box I've got.   Got every type
of 9 and 25 pin gender changer and 9-to-25 pin adapter, but
that's the only null modem adapter.   I'm running 25 pins straight
through from what I can tell...  I guess I can try swapping it out
with different cables (but with the lights I was seeing I suspected
that I had the cable right...)   I don't have any external modems
about or other serial devices to experiment on...unless I tried it on
one of my newer Sun's...(i.e. the 420R..)  I'll give that a shot to
rule out the cables...

I'm open for any other suggestions from anyone....  could the
jumper settings on the VME bus cause this type of behavior??
