Right now I'm trying out Windows XP Pro x64. I'm not keeping on there
permanently. I'll go back to UNIX eventually. I'm just seeing what
it's like. I didn't care much for the Itanium version.

I've been having pretty good luck so far. Most of the devices in my
system are made by Nvidia, and they seem to be pretty good with driver
support. It took some looking, but I finally found a driver for my
on-board Realtek HD audio codec. The only stuff I couldn't find drivers
for were my monitor (which is no big deal, since it's correctly detected
on DDC anyway) and my mouse (which is a bit annoying, since it's an IBM
3-Button optical ScrollPoint mouse with a bunch of neat features I can't
use without the driver). The only thing that was a slight bit of a pain
in the ass was that my on-board gigabit ethernet chipset wasn't
supported out of the box, so I had to burn a CD.

I haven't really tried to play many games on it yet, but I suppose I'll
find out how well that goes soon enough.

Peace... Sridhar
