I have a PC that I want to "rescue" (I use that term very carefully around
here), it has a hyperthreading 2.4 GHz P4, gig of RAM, DVD burner, 2x 80 Gig
HDs, a nice ATI X300 video card and a *butt load* of bad goo from the
Internet. I just haven't gotten around to powering it up off-line, saving my
text & other personal files off to DVD and flatten the sucker. Everytime I
tried to use it, the machine would just vomit up numerous "anti-virus" ads
and other "special" offers... Oh, and the browser was hijacked so it was
almost completely useless...

I guess an argument could be made that I don't need the files (they have been
off-line for over 9 months now), but until I know what's on there, I can't
say I don't need them for sure...

My original point was that even when told exactly what the pop-up would do,
people still clicked on it (Yes, I'd like a virus on my PC, thanks you very
much!)

Lionel
