But the final thing that gets me, and this alone could break the deal for me, is he claims 900,000 positive feedbacks, yet eBay shows 200,000+, and he has a 90% positive approval - that means 20,000+ folks felt "burned" or unhappy with their transaction (assuming any "no response" is left out of the calculation)...

I've bought from them before, but yeah, they are 100% inconsistent in
their listings, so you have to be careful. You might be able to get
someone in the area to go down there and look at the thing, I suppose.

As for shilling--it could be, but they have *a lot* of stuff, and many
many multiples of things, so it's conceivable they came into a stash
of these. Though truth be told that suggests even more that it could
be just chassis.

It's too bad there's no way for people to PM others who have won
auctions to find out their experiences with a vendor/product. There
was a whole spate of burnt/counterfeit Samsung memory sellers for a
while (may still be going on), and I tried to PM a buyer about his/her
experience. We exchanged one message each, then eBay cut off
communication through the internal system. It sucks, feedback is
good, but there needs to be more info sharing afaiac. But they are
pretty much the only game in town.
