It's a long story. I actually didn't really want the 4d/30s or 35s or
whatever they were. When I worked at NASA Langley, and even before I
worked there, I'd go to their surplus auctions when it was sealed bid.
You would generally have to write down your offer, and fax it to Philly.
Then you would find out if you got it later.
Everything was in lots. They mixed it up pretty good. So if you wanted a
Onyx, you might get stuck removing 4d/30s, stacks of crusty who knows
what.
So I gave away all the 4d/30s and the 4d/70 and stuff. I tried to get
other locals into the SGI boxes. For a while at work, someone said he
wanted one, so I took it into the datacenter where I worked at NASA. Once
they figured out how bad it was, they wouldn't take it home. So it kind of
floated cube to cube.... as a prank. A poor crusty brown box with the
property paperwork all taped to the sides.
I think I gave away my XLs, and L's.
I hope I have a taker for the AS/400... Gulp.
Kind of sucks, but it's expensive renting storage sheds, and property in
the crappy area of Southeastern Virignia is rediculous to buy (I think
median detached house is now ~$450K in Virginia Beach, with median
household income @ $60K or so... gotta love it).
