Via has some fantastic system boards for an application like this.
Mini-ITX form factor (6.7 in by 6.7 in, or 170 mm by 170 mm) and
Nano-ITX (12cm W 12cm, or about 4.72x4.72 inches).

At the recent CES trade show, Via showed off the EPIA PX system board
which was an even smaller form factor, dubbed Pico-ITX, and measured
just 10cm x 7.2cm.
