Well, all that memory is useful even outside of Vista. My Mac could
definitely use more than the 512MB it came with. It's all but impossible to
play Warcrack on that. The PC with 1GB seems to do just fine, although it
still swaps occasionally.

Realistically, I wouldn't put less than 2GB in a new box for myself these
days, especially as I tend to use Xen virtualisation and all those OS
instances chew memory.
