Please note the difference between "XServe" and "OS X server". :-)  I
don't need a jet engine under my desk, I was thinking external 3-4
disk FW case hung off the back of my 733 G4, as at this point I know
of no PCI HW RAID 5 card for a Mac that costs less than an arm and
leg.
