That's an interesting move, because AM2 seems geared toward servers
because it has high memory latency, but also high bandwidth.  Perfect
for servers, not so good for a lot of consumer software.

Of course, the systems overall are going to be more powerful, so it will
likely still be a big upgrade for people on current 754/939 systems.

This is especially true if AMD motherboards finally start having
multiple HT links instead of just a single main one.
