Well, how about "buy" in the sense of "pick it up off the curb?"

My SGI Challenge L is big, loud, and hot.  It's ten times the mass of my
experimental dual/dual/hyperhtreaded x86 machine, but it's also ten times as
much fun.

I don't worry about the power consumption; we're all-electric, and the
Challenge heats the house just as efficiently as the furnace.
