Although you appear to have it working the "classic way" with bootp/rarp
and tftp, should I mention that for quite some time the OBP has been able
to netboot using DHCP instead? :-)

I've only used it to set up Solaris Jumpstarts (the support is quite
extensive) but you should be able to tweak things to netboot Debian
instead, or do a RedHat Kickstart, or whatever... look at the Solaris
Advanced Install Guide on docs.sun.com, or search for "jumpstart dhcp", I
think.  I might still have access to my old employer's config repository
if some example stuff would help...
