All of that and a whole lot more.  Not all of them were completely toast,
just the first two, before I figured out what was going on.  I had a stack
of three them to go through initially, and I didn't immediately plug the
first couple back in to the MFM controller.  

I tried the first two for too long each.  Heat builds up and the controller
(minimal though it is, most control was off-loaded to the card in the ISA
slot) cooks.
