I assume cracking it open wasn't too hard. I've got a Mini on the way to me,
and I've got a putty knife and a 1 GB DIMM just waiting :-)

I bought a 17" iMac G5 online from Apple about a month ago. It had terrible
fan buzzing noise that two replacement mid-planes didn't fix. Their tech
support was helpful through it all, and finally offered to exchange the
machine for me. They offered me a g5 tower, but I said "how about a 20"
Cinema Display and a Mini?" They went for it, so machines are crossing in
shipping...

One of the reasons I bought an iMac in the first place was because I didn't
have a suitable display. Now I figure I've got a nice display that will work
on just about anything (DVI), and a Mini as well. If I don't like/want/need
the Mini in the future, no big deal. Maybe I'll regret it later, but I don't
think so...
