There are some systems like this out there already for high-
end emergency mgmt/military apps.
Northrup-Grumman Mission Systems has "Northrop Grumman
Touch Table", which is driven by an LCD projector (I think the
table is actually made by Applied Minds, Inc, which has done
a lot of top shelf conceptual stuff).
Then there is this stereoscopic system:

GIS's data density is driving a lot of visualization tech.
I guess if the touch screen was large enough you wouldn't need
a stylus or keyboard you could just write with your finger. Or
maybe a big ol' one on the floor and you could play Typing of the
Dead like you do DDR? ;-)
