My favorite was the old copies of Spice that the electrical engineers I
knew used.  You had to use the original disk because it had a physically
bad spot on it that would not read/write but would on a copy.

Leave it to engineers - they devised a way of properly orienting the copy
and original so that they could scratch off the correct sector with a
scribe.  :-)
