A friend of mine has built a similar device using a board with a Geode CPU
(350MHz, iirc).  He has a PCI FCAL card plugged into it, and the FCAL
controller is bigger than the machine.

It's a NAS server with a third of a terabyte of disk, that draws 8.5W
peak....
