   I believe I had the same problem with a Netra T1 running a multi-
pack and in digging found the magic incantation:

scsi-options=0xf8;

to be put into /kernel/drv/glm.conf.  Now that may be Netra specific
(or, more to the point, controller-specific), but may help you in
your quest for the proper doco.

   I was seeing drives drop offline (and get the errors logged to
syslog) when a filesystem was in the process of mounting; this may
be due to the speed of the machine (500MHz US-IIe), or due to
something else, but the messages were clearly speaking to a speed
problem on the SCSI chain.
