Hmm, I plugged a couple WD 120GB SE 8mb cache drives into a 3ware card and 
it's been running for a year and a half with no bothers.

I think the problem may not have been the choice of drives, but the choice of 
adapters.  I thought the general consensus was that promise sucked elephant 
balls..?
