I think it is raw bit raster.  It's basically whatever you're doing 
shoved down the raw socket.  If that's Postscript for the Postscript on 
a cartridge of a Laserjet III then that's what is sent.  I think it's 
mainly raw PCL otherwise. (a bitstream?)
