And if they have another policy that says they will offer current SOE (Solaris Operating Environment) for all supported platforms, then they are up against the wall (Solaris 9 on an SS/5-clone laptop?)...

Idea - why don't they sell them as scrap (i.e. get them to remove one 
jumper on the mainboard that stops it working :P). That way, they avoid 
both ISO9000 (it's not a product, it's rubbish!) and shipping Solaris 9. 
Besides, I don't think the Sparcbooks are on the "supported platforms" 
list...
