[rescue] More on the Crimson video

I had erronously tought the Crimson's output was 3BNC. Seems it's the
4BNC section that's an output. The 3BNC RGB has an alpha on green, not
sure what that's really for. Neither the 3bnc or 4bnc will work. At any
rate, I made myself a RGB CSync to VGA cable, but that didn't work
either. I remembered a trick some years back, some monitors needed sense
0 to be grounded to pick up a signal (to wake up), but this SGI monitor
(it is sync on green too btw) will not even wake up.

My scope has been dead for a while now, so it's hard to figure out what
is going on. I did do a continuity test on all the pins and everything
is wired properly (Red on 1 and its ground on pin below, green on 2 and
its ground on the pin below, blue on 3 and ground on it's pin below, c
sync on 13 and ground on 10, 11 grounded)

What does happen when I power up the machine: the fans come on, the left
led comes on yellow and the right led comes on green, the AUI 10baseT
transceiver powers on, but the keyboard is not being powered (well none
of the lights come on and pressing num lock and the like makes no
difference). And like I said, the monitor stays in sleep mode.

Do I need to have the CDROM in a specific slot? Same question regarding
HD. Would that prevent the keyboard/video to be active? I've never
installed an os on the box obviously as it was incomplete when I got the
box.

Francois
