Without saying anything, Apple expanded card support in the "Ariport" driver
of OS X Panther. For example, I have a Belkin OEM'ed Broadcom .11b card that
worked out of the box.

It's easy to test, Pop one in a laptop without an Airport card and try and
run the Airport Setup Asisistant.
